Twilight ‘Eclipse’ Will Reportedly Show One Of The Biggest Battle Scenes

Twilight ‘Eclipse’ will reportedly show one of the biggest battle scenes. MTV news recently interviewed Bryce Dallas Howard who replaced Rachelle Lefevre as the vampire Victoria for the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” movie, and she revealed that one of her favorite scenes she filmed was a big epic battle scene, which she claims is one of the biggest in the movie series so far. She stated,  “There’s quite an extraordinary finale. That was very fun to do.”

In “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” Bryce’s character, Victoria creates an army of newborn vampires to get revenge for Edward killing her mate, James in the original “Twilight” movie.

Bryce said the producers told her that this battle is going to be one of the biggest battles filmed so far. She stated, “The producers were saying it’s the biggest spectacle filmed thus far in this franchise. There’s a newborn army that’s been raised for battle. It’s a true battle scene.”

Bryce Dallas Howard speaks out on 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,' 'Spider-Man 4' and 'Terminator'

Celebrity Q&A Examiner Carla Hay

Sure, Megan Fox gets a lot of media attention for her role in the blockbuster "Transformers" movie series. But when it comes to being part of a blockbuster movie franchise, the most interesting young actress to watch is Bryce Dallas Howard. That’s because she’s part of not just one but three movie series that make billions at the box office: "Spider-Man," "Terminator" and "Twilight." (And unlike sex symbol Fox, no one questions Howard’s acting talent.) In 2007’s "Spider-Man 3," Howard played Gwen Stacy, the third wheel in the love triangle between Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson. In 2009’s "Terminator Salvation," Howard was Kate Connor, wife of "Terminator" hero John Connor. And in "Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Howard steps into the role of Victoria, the evil vampire who seeks revenge on lovebirds Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.

For the first time since her controversial casting as Victoria in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Howard (who replaced Rachelle Lefevre, who originated the role in 2008's "Twilight" and reprised the character in 2009's "The Twilight Saga: New Moon") is publicly speaking out about "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which completed filming this year and arrives in theaters in June 2010. In July 2009, Lefevre was notoriously fired from "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" due to scheduling conflicts with another movie Lefevre had committed to doing. Lefevre was immediately replaced by Howard, leading to a mixed reaction from die-hard "Twilight" fans, as well as a back-and-forth "she said/they said" public feud between Lefevre and Summit Entertainment, the film studio behind the "Twilight" movie series.

While in New York City to promote her independent film "The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond" (written by the late Tennessee Williams), I sat down with Howard on December 10 at a roundtable interview, and she was refreshingly candid about a number of things. I had to ask her about "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," and she opened up about her experience doing the movie and she gave her perspective on all the controversy surrounding her casting in "Eclipse." She also addressed rumors of her involvement in "Spider-Man 4" (which is due out in 2011), and any future "Terminator" films. The full interview with Howard (in which she talks about "The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond" and working with director Gus Van Sant on producing her first movie) will be published later this month. But in the meantime, here’s what she had to say about the trio of blockbuster movie franchises in which she’s played very memorable roles.

Is your Gwen Stacy character going to have a big role in "Spider-Man 4"?

I don’t know. It was really made clear to me when we did "Spider-Man 3" that it was entirely possible that a character could come back or a character could not. This could be just a specific plot to that film, because there are so many stories in the comic-book series, if you want to pack in as much as possible. It’s up to ["Spider-Man" director] Sam [Raimi] and the writers and the people who have done such an amazing job protecting that franchise and choosing the best storylines for the audiences. I’m a fan first. I had an incredible time working with them, but what I want more than anything is just for that franchise to continue to kick butt and to really appease the really, really, loyal fans, including myself.

Have you been approached to do "Spider-Man 4"?

No. I haven’t. There’s no disappointment because it’s exciting … what’s happening to that franchise. I’m just happy that there’s going to be two more ["Spider-Man" movies]. During the third ["Spider-Man" movie], there was a question. And after it came out, it was pretty clear that people were really supportive of the franchise. I’m really stoked that it’s continuing on.

McG says that he wants to direct more "Terminator" movies. If he does, would you be on board for that?

Oh, yeah! I haven’t signed anything that would obligate them to me or me to them or anything like that, because that film ["Terminator Salvation"] was made with a lot of humility. We’ll do this one, the fact that we can, and if people ask for more, then they ask for more. But it’s an incredible group. We are all fiercely committed to the story. It’s "Terminator," for Christ’s sake. If it comes about, and if I should be so lucky that they invite me back, I would be loathe to walk away from that.

Will you play Victoria in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn"?

I don’t want to give anything away, but "Victoria has a life span," is what I’ll say. [She laughs.] That’s all I can say about that.

Can you talk about your experience in joining the "Twilight" franchise?

I was really struck by what an incredible group of young people are in that franchise. Their friendships are so genuine, and they really ground each other. And there is a lot going on around them. There’s a lot of attention and scrutiny, but I’m truly moved by how solid they’ve remained in their values and belief systems and their caring of one another throughout all of that. You hope for that in a franchise.

Part of the reason to come back together is to tell a story but also to come back together because everyone genuinely enjoys working with one another. And it was a really, really positive experience for that reason — other than set aside the fact that I’ve read the ["Twilight"] books and loved the books from the very beginning and these characters are extraordinary. It’s such an absorbing story that I just felt very lucky, given the unfortunate circumstances surrounding it, that I was just invited in. I hope that "Eclipse" continues this trend of being really reverent of what ["Twilight" book series author] Stephenie [Meyer] created with the books.

What advice would you have for an actor who is doing a role that was previously played by someone else? A lot of people thought you handled yourself well in the controversy over your "Eclipse" casting.

We’ll see. The jury is still out, because Rachelle [Lefevre] really created an incredible character and is exquisite. I fell like the uproar that occurred was really appropriate, because part of the joy of seeing a franchise, it’s almost like a television series. You’ve seen the actors grow with the franchise. And [Lefevre’s] unavailability [to do "Eclipse"] was really, really, really unfortunate. Advice? Gosh. Just to do your best and be über-respectful. She won that role for a reason. I hope to honor everything that she created.

Taylor Lautner is in NYC to host Saturday Night Live (video)

Celebrity Fitness and Health Examiner Samantha Chang

New Moon star Taylor Lautner is in New York City this week to rehearse for his upcoming Dec. 12 appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Lautner, 17, was photographed at JFK Airport on Dec. 7, where he had just arrrived from Los Angeles.

Taylor, who skyrocketed to international fame following his star-making turn as Jacob Black in New Moon, will appear on SNL with musical guest Bon Jovi.

Thanks to his stunning popularity from the Twilight saga, Lautner was just cast as teen superhero Max Steel in an upcoming Paramount Pictures film. In Max Steel, Taylor will play a 19-year-old extreme sports junkie who gets recruited by a secret agency after he gains superhuman powers following a bizarre accident. New Moon still Taylor Lautner Kristen Stewart photo from FilmoFilia

Movie execs are clearly wasting no time capitalizing on Lautner's mega-popularity and his athletic good looks.

Taylor, who ate and worked out nonstop to gain 30 pounds of muscle for his role in New Moon, will have to continue his fitness regimen for both Max Steel and the upcoming Twilight sequels.

Lautner has revealed that he must gain an additional 10 pounds of muscle to play Jacob in Breaking Dawn, the fourth installment in the Twilight saga.

"Jacob continually grows throughout the series, so I’m still going to have to put on a little bit more weight," says Taylor. [Editor's note: In the book, Jacob morphs from a baby-faced 6'2" teen to a monstrous 6'7" werewolf.] New Taylor Lautner shirtless photos for New Moon from FilmoFilia

So how much more weight does Lautner need to gain? "I’ll shoot for another 10 [lbs]," he says. "We’ll see what I can do, but I’ll be working hard."

While the idea of having to gain weight for a lucrative job may sound fun, for Lautner, gaining--and retaining--the extra weight has been hard.

"The actual getting into the gym and working out process was easier, but the eating was harder," Taylor recounts. "I had to eat every two hours. At one point, my trainer said, 'Put anything in your mouth. Go to McDonald’s, get the biggest shake possible. I just need to get calories in you.' Because my body fat at the time was only, like, 7.5%."

Meanwhile, New Moon has been tearing up the box office. So far, the vampire romance has grossed almost $500 million worldwide since its Nov. 20 release.

Its sequel, Eclipse, has already been filmed and will be released in June 2010.

New Moon, which co-stars Robert Pattinson, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed and Kristen Stewart, is in theaters now.

Check out this promo video Taylor shot for his SNL appearance this Sat., 12/12 (featuring Kristin Wiig):

Twilight fans flock to Forks

By Daniela Deane, CNN

London, England (CNN)  -- It's only got a couple of stoplights, and a pretty constant rain.

But that hasn't stopped thousands of visitors from making the trek to Forks, Washington, a small logging town in the Pacific Northwest of the U. S. -- the setting for the hugely popular vampire saga "Twilight."

The small town of just 3,000 residents was suffering from the logging industry's decline. But "Twilight," set in Forks but not actually filmed there, changed all that.

While other nearby areas have seen a decrease in tourism, Forks is enjoying a vampire-inspired tourist boom.

Last year, 2008, was the town's biggest tourism year ever and residents say carloads of visitors, mostly giddy teenage girls, are showing up every weekend these days.

Marcia Bingham, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce, said the town's Twilight-inspired turnaround has been nothing short of miraculous.

"We've probably had more than 100 people a day," Bingham told the Associated Press as van after van of tourists pulled up in front of the town's visitor center.

Forks is where the smouldering romance between vampire Edward Cullen, played by British actor Robert Pattinson, and his high-school girlfriend Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, unfolds.

The second installment in the massively popular series, "New Moon," also featuring Taylor Lautner as werewolf Jacob Black, opened on November 20 to record audiences.

The movies are based on a series of best-selling books by U.S. author Stephanie Meyer. Five years ago now, Meyer first introduced the world to Swan, a 17-year-old girl who moves to Forks to live with her police chief dad, and her classmate and love interest Cullen, who turns out is a vampire. Swan's best friend at Forks High is Jacob Black, who's a werewolf.

Forks has welcomed the new visitors with open arms.

Local restaurants are serving special "Twilight" treats, like Bella burgers at Sully's Burgers in town, or Bella Berry milkshakes.

Fans buy up bumper stickers or one of the stacks of t-shirts behind every counter that read "Vampires love Forks", or baseball caps emblazoned with the little town's name.

On the town's main drag, signs in store windows read "We love Edward and Bella."
We've probably had more than 100 people a day
--Marcia Bingham, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce

On Bella's fictional birthday last year, the town held a "vampire party", where almost 1,000 young girls attended. Residents said they'd never seen more women in Forks in the history of the rainy little town.

Town entrepreneurs have started "Twilight tours" that take in all the key spots in the books and the movies -- places like Bella and Edward's houses, the police station where Bella's father works, the hospital where Edward's father is a doctor, or the field where the vampires like to play baseball.

Stand-ins for the real things had to be chosen, since the movies aren't filmed in the town.

Tour operators say the most popular spot is probably the beach in nearby LaPush, where Bella first finds out the truth about Edward.

It makes sense the romantic, rain-swept beach would be popular. The stories, after all, are all about a repressed, but hopelessly romantic love between the two lead characters, even though one is a vampire.

Adam Lambert Makes A Bid For 'Eclipse' Soundtrack

'Suburban Decay' didn't make it onto his album, but Lambert thinks it would fit the 'Twilight' sequel.

By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Jim Cantiello

Adam Lambert's "Time for Miracles" has already been featured on the soundtrack for "2012." But the "American Idol" runner-up is already thinking about having a song accompany another potential blockbuster: "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

Lambert thinks "Suburban Decay," a track produced by Rob Cavallo that didn't make it onto For Your Entertainment, should find a new home on the June 2010 movie's soundtrack.

"It's a great song and I hope to perform it someday, and I think it will find a home, on a soundtrack or something ... maybe 'Twilight,' " he told MTV News. "It just didn't quite fit [in my album]. It's very theatrical. ... It's very campy, and it was just a bit too campy for the album as a big picture."

Although the vibe was all wrong for his album, it might be perfect to score the intensifying love triangle between Bella, Jacob and Edward. "Hey, 'Eclipse' ... Want my song? It's kind of about vampires," he offered, noting a verse about "bloodlust."

"Voodoo" is another song that fans heard about earlier this year but didn't make the cut for Lambert's major-label debut. "Again because we only had so many tracks — that's one I do wish we got on the album," he said. "But I didn't want to get rid of any of the other ones. I believe in all the songs. It's real sexy, kind of vibey dark disco ... more industrial."

Hmmm...the song might fit in the Twilight saga.  Hmmm [again]...he's a controversial artist...will it significantly, positively affect the movie?!  Whatever happens I would still watch Eclipse! =)

Robert Pattinson Says Bella's 'Treachery' Drives 'Eclipse'

'New Moon' star also touches on his upcoming flick 'Remember Me,' which he hopes will 'get the same fanbase' as 'Twilight.'
By Jocelyn Vena

NEW YORK — With "New Moon" hitting theaters this week, it seems fitting that the stars are already starting to reveal tidbits about the upcoming "Eclipse" flick. And if fans thought Bella gets taken for a ride in "New Moon," they are in for a surprise once they hit theaters next year.

"I think Bella's little bit of treachery in the third one will be ... I think it's going to be a good scene," he told MTV News on the red carpet at the NYC screening of "New Moon."

While the "Twilight Saga" has catapulted Pattinson to mega-stardom, he isn't resting on his laurels. The trailer for his new film "Remember Me" came out Thursday (November 19), and it seems to have an equally drama-filled relationship — even if Pattinson doesn't see the parallels. "It's not very similar to 'Twilight,' " he said. "[But] hopefully it will get the same fanbase."

Kristen Stewart elaborated on the pain Bella is about to go through in the third movie. "I'm looking forward to seeing the love triangle actually becoming a problem," she said. "We sort of innocently touch on it in 'New Moon,' but it actually becomes something that is very, very real."

Stewart said seeing Bella grow and develop in the upcoming flicks will certainly prove interesting for her, as well as the Twi-Hards. "I've always backed her up in her devotion to Edward," she said. "And to see that falter will be interesting."

The Eclipse book was great!  The conflict between Edward and Jacob, the love triangle, and all!  Let's just wait and see if the [The Twilight saga: Eclipse] movie  will cope up with it.  If while watching the movie, we could also feel the same emotions as we have had while reading the book.
